Know about Bluetooth Characteristics

Bluetooth device is used generally in a chip solution or multiple chips. This is due to the fact that a Bluetooth device or module consists of three main parts: the RF part, the base band processor and the link manager. Some vendors will produce BT module in multiple chip. Signals can be transmitted through walls and briefcases. So it is eliminating the necessity for line-of-sight. Eight devices can be networked in a piconet. It separates the frequency band into many hops. This spread spectrum is used to hop from one channel to another, which adds a strong layer of security. Both synchronous and asynchronous applications are supported, making it easy to implement on a variety of devices and for a variety of services, such as voice and Internet. It is possible to utilize the same standard wherever one travels. Devices are not needed to point at each other, as signals are Omni-directional. Dimensions of a Bluetooth device can be a bit more difficult to establish.

Bluetooth Wireless Specification

The Bluetooth specification embraces link layer, radio frequency and application layer. The product developers for data, voice and content-centric applications are defined using Bluetooth. The specification contains the data necessary to ensure the diverse devices. The Bluetooth wireless technology can be connected with each other network worldwide. These specifications are divided into two parts. They are Core and Profiles. The Core part specifies components such as the radio, base band, link manager, service discovery protocol, transport layer, and interoperability with different communication protocols. The Profiles part specifies the protocols and procedures required for different types of Bluetooth applications. The Bluetooth data channel randomly hops 1,600 times per second between 79 RF channels. Each Bluetooth channel is divided into time slots, with each one being 625 microseconds long. There are two types of data transfer between devices .There are synchronous connection oriented and asynchronous connectionless. Bluetooth piconet has a master and maximum seven slaves. The master will transmit in even time slots, while the slaves will transmit in odd time slots.

Bluetooth Research

The purpose of research is to provide helpful information such as recommended methodologies, configurations, and parameters in association with the use of Bluetooth specifications. Research is created for informational purposes and it does not contain any test documentation. So it has no effect on qualification based on the research. It is not enforced as purely optional for members. Bluetooth specifications cannot require the implementation of any content of a white paper. Bluetooth specifications may and do reference white papers as necessary. The basic assumption is used for the entire user to enhance the device with any scheme. It is that all nodes are within the transmission range in each other. The nodes conduct a leader election algorithm. The winner knows the identity of all nodes and uses this information to design the desired topology. They are concerned with three major objectives are connectivity, distributed operation and low overhead, throughput maximization. They explained on three objectives and what it takes to achieve them. This publication recommends two classes, basic and advanced, with requirements that cover imaging, printing, stereo audio and in-car usage. To ensure the broadest support of feature functionality with some device support. The forum has recently published a recommendations paper as Bluetooth Local Connectivity.

Bluetooth Application

It is a new technology and it has more applications compare to mobile devices. It includes wireless control and communication between a mobile phone and a hands-free handset.. This was one of the earliest applications to become popular. It has a tremendous potential in moving and synchronizing information. We transact business and communicate more with people who are close by than with those who are far away. The Bluetooth technology connects all your office peripherals wirelessly. Connect your PC or notebook to printers, scanners and faxes without the ugly and troublesome cable attachments. If the digital cameras in Bluetooth enabled, you can send still or video images from any location to any location without the hassle of connecting your camera to the mobile phone on the wire line phone. Bluetooth allows us to have three way phones. At home, your phone functions as a portable phone. When you're on the move, it functions as a mobile phone. When your phone comes within range of another mobile phone with built-in Bluetooth wireless technology it functions as a walkie-talkie. When the user compose any e-mails on your portable PC while you're on an airplane. As soon as you've landed and switched on your mobile phone, all messages are immediately sent.

Knowledge about Bluetooth Operation

The technology is an arrangement of Bluetooth devices and networks. It is a group of devices connected via Bluetooth technology. It is a simple connection between two devices or more than two devices. Any of the devices is used for multiplexing. The Bluetooth system sustains both point-to-point and point-to-multi-point connections. When a device is connected to another device it is a point to point connection. A piconet starts with two connected devices, such as a handy PC and cellular phone, and may grow to eight connected devices. If a device is connected to more than one piconet, then it communicates in each piconet using a different hopping sequence. All the other devices in a piconet that are not the master are slave units. Also there can be parked units which are synchronized but do not have a MAC addresses. These parked units have an 8 bit address; therefore there can be an utmost of 256 parked devices. All users are participating on the same piconet are synchronized to this hopping sequence. All Bluetooth devices are peer units and have the same implementations. The Bluetooth base band protocol is an arrangement of circuit and packet switching. In a piconet there is a master unit and hopping sequence are used to synchronize in all other devices.
