Progressive Standard Definition Cameras

Panasonic’s AJ-SDX900 uses a prism based imager 16:9 and 4:3 switchable with three two by three inch 520000 progressive capture, native 16:9 IT CCDs and 12 bit digital signal processing. The camera section captures images at 60 fields per second or 30 or 24 frames per second. The SDX900’s recorder can operate at 25 Mbps in the DVCPRO-50 format. DVCPRO is Panasonic’s professional version of the DV format and uses 4:1:1 color sampling. DVCPRO-50 doubles the data rate and uses 4:2:2 color sampling.
