Bluebugging and bluesnarfing are two separate security issues, but both cannot affect all the phones. Phones that are susceptible to one are not necessarily vulnerable to the other. In bluebugging a hacker gets access to cell phones command using Bluetooth technology without the prior permission or knowledge from user. Using Bluebugging we can make voice calls, send messages, read and write contacts and calendar events, eavesdrop on phone conversations, and connect to the Internet. Just as Bluetooth attacks, it enables the hacker to make phone calls, read and write phonebook contacts, send and receive text messages. If your phone is in hidden mode, it becomes very hard for hackers to bluesnarf your phone. It is the unauthorized access of information from a wireless device through a Bluetooth connection, often between phones, desktops, laptops. Blue jacking won’t expose any data and so it causes no harm to the victims. But in case of blue snarfing it extracts the information from the target Bluetooth device and hence the victims are highly infected by such attacks.
